Here is the weather outlook for India:
Wednesday (May 10)
- Heavy rain and thunderstorms accompanied by very large waterfalls and strong gusts of wind (90 km/h) is expected to pass through the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- Widespread rain and thunderstorms are possible over coastal Karnataka, North and South Inland Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.
- Heavy rain is possible in isolated places in Inland South Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.
- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely in Arunachal Pradesh and Lakshadweep.
- Individual rain with a chance of lightning is forecast for Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Rayalaseema, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal.
- Maximum temperature can rise above 40°C in isolated places like Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Bihar, Eastern Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Saurashtra, Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathawada, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh and Telangana.
- Heatwave conditions may prevail in sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Ganges West Bengal and Bihar.

- Heavy rain and thunderstorms accompanied by very large waterfalls and strong gusts of wind (90 kmph) could blow away the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
- Fairly common thunderstorms and thunderstorms are likely in Kerala and Mahe.
- Scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible in Coastal Karnataka, Inland Southern Karnataka and Lakshadweep.
- Heavy rain is possible in isolated places in Inland South Karnataka, Kerala and Mahe.

- Heatwave conditions are forecast in the Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Gangetic West Bengal and Bihar.

The tropical depression over the Southeast Bay of Bengal moved in a northwest-northwest direction at a speed of 5 km/h over the past 6 hours and concentrated into a depression. This tropical depression is forecasted to move for a while in the northwest direction, then move in the north-northwest direction and gradually strengthen into Typhoon (CS) on the evening of May 10 (today).
It is then predicted to strengthen to Severe Cyclone (SCS) on 11 May, then continue into Very Severe Cyclone Cyclone (VSCS) in the Southeast and the adjacent Bay of Central Bengal on 12 May. May. The system is likely to move north-northwest through Thursday (May 11) and then gradually recur to move north-northeast. Moreover, it may weaken a bit from May 13th and made landfall between Bangladesh and Myanmar around dawn on 14 May, with the intensity of a severe cyclone (SCS).
Under the influence of the above system, the Andaman and Nicobar Islands may experience very heavy rainfall (≧115.6mm/day) with gusty winds (≧90 km/h) on May 10-11.
Heavy rain (≧64.5mm/day) can also attack Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura on May 13, while very heavy rainfall (≧115.6mm/day) may occur in these regions on May 14.
Therefore, fishermen, small boats, boats and trawlers are advised not to venture into the southeastern and central Bay of Bengal as well as the southern Andaman Sea until 10 May. Fishermen in the central Bay of Bengal. and the northern Andaman Sea are advised to return by today, May 10.
Furthermore, wet southwesterly winds will continue to bring intermittent showers over Northeast India, mainly in Arunachal Pradesh, during this forecast period. Heavy rain (≧64.5mm/day) most likely to occur in isolated places across East Assam and East Arunachal Pradesh on May 14.
Meanwhile, a trough or wind disruption extending from Telangana to South Tamil Nadu is expected to produce showers accompanied by thunderstorms across South India during this forecast period.

As for mercury levels, maximum temperatures can reach above 40°C in parts of East and West India and around Rajasthan. Daytime temperatures can exceed 45°C in isolated parts of Western Rajasthan between May 11 and May 14.
In addition, warm southward currents from the aforementioned tropical system may contribute heat wave conditions over isolated places in East India especially in West Bengal and Bihar on 10-11 May.
