The KING Worthy Primary School Parents and Teachers Association has received a £1,000 grant from the parish council to fund the renovation of the school’s bird skins. TICKETS are on sale for Sparsholt’s coronation at the village shop. The festival begins at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 7 with a drink reception at Memorial Green, before the afternoon with live music, lunch, Sparsholt Bake Off results and the Sparcrufts Dog Show. Cash and card counters will be open from 12:30-7pm as well as tea and coffee counters after lunch.
The event is free to all but lunch tickets must be purchased from the store. Adults cost £10 and children under 12 cost £5. Wine is available for reservation, but guests are asked to bring cutlery and non-fragile crockery. The dress code is regal, red, white and blue.
Itchen Abbas and Avington Village Hall will also host a ‘Coronation Grand Lunch’ on Sunday, May 7 from noon to 3pm. Residents are welcome to come along, bring their own picnic gear, make crowns and enter competitions. Meanwhile, Easton Village Hall’s street party-style celebrations take place Monday, May 8, from midday to 4:30 p.m. Entertainment includes a scarecrow contest, children’s activities, roast pork or vegetarian and tea and cake lunches with a cash bar. BRITAIN’S Got Talent finalists will perform at Littleton Memorial Hall on Saturday, May 20. The rat-inspired singer who performs under the stage name “Born to Bublé” will raise funds. for the Royal British Legion.
