Countryside Partnerships and Together Housing Group have completed the purchase of a brown plot in Rochdale from Homes England.
The couple obtained planning permission last month to build 126 homes on the site, which have not been used since the closure of the Akzo Nobel paint factory 16 years ago.
Homes England initially chose Vistry Partnerships to build the development in 2021, before the company £1.2 billion merger with Countryside.
The development will include homes with two to five bedrooms, including 14 jointly owned homes that will be managed by Together Housing Group and five homes that will be sold under the company’s affordable home ownership program. government, First Homes.
Countryside will invest nearly £700,000 in local education and offer outdoor sport as part of the development.
Work is expected to begin this summer with the first homes available in 2024.
