A woman is “angry” after she claims she was kicked off an Alaska Airlines flight for drinking a mimosa at an airport bar.
Tiktok user Kandace H shared his experience on the social media platform, along with the caption: “THIS IS ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE! I LIVE!
“The flight attendants on Flight 714 from Portland to Vegas need to be fired! I was blatantly deceived by your staff and kicked off the plane… HUGE shame in front of your staff!”
She added the hashtag “discrimination” and said, having flown with the airline many times, she “only has interesting things to say about it to this day”.
In the video, Kandace alleges that she was kicked off her flight home to Vegas even though she wasn’t drunk.
She said that she and several colleagues enjoyed a drink at the airport bar in Portland, where she drank a glass and a half of mimosas before boarding the plane.
“They just pulled me out of the plane, we were literally about to take off,” Kandace said in the video, which has been viewed 875,000 times at the time of writing.
“The woman came up to me, and she said ‘sorry, ma’am,’ and I thought she was going to tell me to put my backpack under the seat because I had it in my lap.”
Instead, Kandace claimed the flight attendant told her she had to get off the plane.
“I asked her four times: ‘Are you kidding me?’,” she said.
She said in the video that the disembarkation happened after she went to the plane’s toilet before take-off. Having never used an airplane bathroom before, she asked a crew member about the facilities, who told her to come in and lock the door, the lights would automatically come on.
“I went to the bathroom, the lights weren’t on,” Kandace said, so she asked the flight attendant for help.
Meanwhile, she was on the phone with colleagues who were flying with another airline.
Kandace said that, because she was on the phone, she was in the bathroom for about 10 minutes; When she stepped out, the flight attendant kept asking if she was okay.
“I was like, ‘I mean I had a drink at the bar, but who doesn’t? It’s true that there are bars at the airport,'” she said. “I had an apricot tree; um, an hour and a half, I haven’t even finished the second one because I have to go to the gate.”
Kandace then claimed that she was “pulled off the plane” and that the flight attendant accused her of “stammering” and whispering “I’m drunk, shhh,” which she denied.
“I have no problem saying I’ve been drinking, but I’m not belligerent, I’m not drunk,” she said. “I actually thought it was a joke.”
Kandace said her initial flight started at 5:30 p.m., but after it was cancelled, she was forced to wait until 10 p.m. to fly home, where she wouldn’t land until midnight.
“I am p***ed,” she ends the video.
