Alice Evans said she was “running out of money for food and bills” during her divorce from actor Ioan Gruffudd.
Gruffudd and Evans separated on January 1, 2021 after 13 years of marriage. Earlier this year it was reported that Gruffud, 48, had sought a restraining order against Evans, claiming that she had repeatedly verbally threatened her with “do to me what Amber Heard did to Johnny Depp” “.
In an Instagram post of her and Gruffudd’s youngest daughter Elsie, eight, jumping up and down, Evans wrote: “Trying to keep things together while being threatened, running out of food and bills. and just found out someone was trying to disrupt the party. our front door last night! ”
She added: “But it’s all worth it for this [her daughter]! (And one currently doesn’t want to be photographed.)
“Whatevs. Above all, I will be the best mother I can be. Forever. They will never lose me. Thank you everyone for so much love and support! There is a bit of negligence! ”
The 53-year-old man who starred in Lost and Diary of a vampire, shared the post the same day she launched a GoFundMe campaign asking for $25,000 (£20,000) to help pay for a divorce lawyer.
In the page’s description, she wrote: “In a million years, I never thought I would do this.
“…However, in August 2020, as soon as the pandemic broke out, my entire world fell apart. Since that day, I’ve struggled not only as a single mom raising kids, but also trying to cover the bills, food, and legal fees (ha! Don’t even tell me about the legal fees). and ended up spending everything – savings, accounts, pensions, a lot.
“Yesterday all my accounts were empty and I couldn’t buy anything. That same day, my husband’s manager sent me a letter telling me I would have to go to court on August 2 to argue ‘my case’ in the divorce. I currently don’t have a lawyer and don’t have the money to pay one. If I hadn’t appeared in court, I would have been looked down upon, and I don’t know what would have happened to me or my children at that point.”
