Ally McCoist has hailed Jack Grealish as ‘a breath of fresh air’, but still won’t let him get close to his hypothetical daughters!
Speaking on Sports Breakfast, McCoist said: “He’s really likeable and I think he’s probably the easiest to get along with, I really do.
“Strangely, he may have been helped this season by Phil Foden’s injury to some extent but he’s definitely hit the mark, he’s on another level.
“I think his game time could be a bit more limited if Foden is at 100% due to rotation and the way Pep uses the players in his team, but I think he is a stream. New wind.
“The way he talks to people, the way you see him in the press and more importantly the way you see him with the fans. He does a lot of things with people who are not as fortunate as I am and I think he is really easy to get along with.
“He’s a breath of fresh air and he’s one of those guys that I really want to see play well. He has a good way about him.
“I made a comment during the World Cup about Jude Bellingham, I have five sons and I said that if I had five daughters I would let Jude Bellingham take them all out – I wouldn’t let Jack Grealish get close to any of them! “
When asked if he would change his mind, McCoist commented: “No and put another padlock in the pad that I will keep them in, I will put another padlock in!
“But he is great. He is a breath of fresh air and I really like him. He’s a good watch when he’s playing and he’s a good listener when he’s talking. He’s very good at handling himself out in the park with his supporters.”
