Today: The afternoon was very hot and the sky was clear. 108° high.
Tonight: Cool and warm evening. The lowest is 74°.
Tomorrow: The heat wave continues. High 105°
Heat recommendations apply across most of the Southern Plains today. Due to the high temperature, outdoor activities are not recommended this afternoon. Lubbock will likely have an afternoon high of 107° and warmest temperatures will be in the southeast with a peak of 109°
The heat wave will last through Thursday with afternoon temperatures in the triple digits. Friday will return to average seasonal conditions with a 20% chance of rain. This new, cooler pattern of showers is likely to continue through the weekend.
