According to the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD), very heavy rainfall is likely to continue in Gujarat and Maharashtra on Saturday and decrease thereafter. Meanwhile, a new wave of heavy to very heavy rains is likely to begin in the south of Peninsular India from July 2.
Conditions are favorable for the Southwest Monsoon to continue into the rest of Rajasthan and Haryana and Punjab over the next two days. A cyclonic circulation lies over northwestern Uttar Pradesh and surrounding areas in the low and intermediate strata and a trough runs from this cyclonic circulation to the Northeast Arabian Sea in the mid troposphere.
