Rain comes Wednesday amid unsettled weather pattern — see 10-day forecast – NBC New York

If you like sunny days with high temperatures in the 80s, then at least you’ll enjoy half the forecast coming.

Sunshine returns on Tuesday with a perfectly pleasant June day with plenty of sunshine. But then the stormy weather returned on Wednesday.

Thunderstorms can occur during the day. It’s part of a pattern of unsettled weather that extends into next week — but that doesn’t mean every day can be washed away.

Expect almost a carbon copy of Tuesday’s weather on Thursday, sandwiched between two days of wet weather. Chances of showers return on Friday, though it looks like the sun will be active during the day.

Good news: The rainy weather will pause for Father’s Day weekend, as both days are mostly sunny with temperatures hovering around 80s.

But over the June 16 holiday, more rain will come and showers will continue into Tuesday. There is still a chance of more rain over the weekend as well as after.

While it can get in the way of outdoor plans (or at least make you think twice before planning an outdoor event), rain is necessary. Most of the three states were dry for nearly the entire spring.

The drought extended over large swaths of northern New Jersey late last week, and much of Pennsylvania was in a “moderate drought” zone. Even with Monday’s rain, especially in western New Jersey, it may not completely erase the dryness.
