Youth and restlessness star Andrea Evans has passed away at the age of 66.

The news has been confirmed by the actor’s current manager Nick Leicht.

“I have worked with Andrea for the past seven years. She is a tremendous talent and a pleasure to work with,” Leicht said Everybody in a statement.

Evans is believed to have died of breast cancer at his home in Pasadena, California on Sunday (July 9).

She is best known for her character Patty Williams on CBS’ Youth and restlessnessTina Lord on ABC’s A life to live and Rebecca Hotchkiss on NBC/DirecTV’s passion.

Evans was nominated for an Outstanding Emma Daytime Ingenue Award in 1988 for his performance in A life to live.

However, the actor abruptly left the show in the 1990s and did not appear in public. It was later revealed that her decision was influenced by her experience with a stalker.

Her husband, Stephen Rodriguez, whom she married in 1998, released a statement following her death.

“Andrea is a remarkable individual, beloved by all who know her,” he said.

“Her enduring strength, positivity and indomitable spirit inspired us every step of the way throughout her fearless battle against this relentless disease.”

“She has faced challenges with grace, resilience and an enduring love for life. Andrea and I have been together for over 30 years. She is a wonderful wife and mother. She is my ROCK. The cancer killed Andrea, but it didn’t kill her spirit. That spirit is still alive and well and alive in each of us who she touched,” he said.

The late actor’s co-stars also expressed their admiration for her on social networks.

“Andrea is such a nice lady, fun to work with and very professional,” Archer wrote on Facebook. “I feel so lucky to be able to play with her on OLTL And Bay series.

“It is with great sadness that this talented actress has passed away. She helped put OLTL in the spotlight. Cancer sucks! (sic)” DePaiva wrote on Facebook.

“I am very sorry to hear of the passing of Andrea Evans. Andrea was already a huge star when my career started in OLTL“Frank Valentini, former executive producer of A life to live.

“She was always kind, gracious and a joy to work with. A daytime legend that will be greatly missed. I sympathize with her friends and family.”

Evans is survived by her husband and daughter Kylie.

“At just 19 years old, my world has been forever changed, and words cannot fully convey the depth of my sadness. My mom is my best friend,” Kylie said in a statement to Everybody.
