Severe Risk Favors South Texas Today

After a hectic weekend in the Lone Star State, more intense storms are possible today – this time in Deep South Texas, or the Rio Grande Valley. Through Tuesday and Wednesday, the severe threat will focus back to West Texas, where dry roads help fuel daily afternoon and evening storms. We have a SMALL risk of severe storms passing through southern Texas including Corpus Christi, Laredo and Brownsville. All forms of severe weather are possible, including the possibility of a lone tornado.

Storms will develop throughout the afternoon and evening, over the southern Rockies and along a dry line. We will see the possibility of some severe storms in addition to the flood threat. Some storms last for hours overnight, but most will disappear by sunset.
