The record heatwave continues into Wednesday, where it feels more like July in the Chicago area than May.

O’Hare Airport scored 90 degrees and Midway scored 91 degrees. Many areas inland also recorded an unusually high triple-digit early heat reading on Wednesday afternoon.

This is the first time in 73 years (since 1949) that a return high of 91°+ has occurred at the start of the season.

Hot and humid weather continues through Thursday and Friday. Showers and storms possible Friday.
