In January 2022, Cha Cha is So Smooth became the biggest Sundance hit of the year after being acquired by the corporation.
The deal came a year after the streaming service was purchased CODAwent on to win Best Picture at the Oscars.
Cha Cha is So Smooth written and directed by its main star, Cooper Raiff, 25.
This is Raiff’s second movie after home ***also called Freshman, and follows a college graduate, based in New Jersey, who falls in love with a young mother (Dakota Johnson) whom he meets at his brother’s schoolmate’s bat mitzvah.
Leslie Mann and Brad Garrett also star in the film as does Vanessa Burghardt, who steals scenes as Johnson’s autistic daughter, with whom Raiff’s character has a sweet friendship. Impressively, the film is Burghardt’s debut.
