“Woakes is a quality performer, very consistent every time he wears the shirt. It was great to have him there at eight o’clock.

“Wood, can come in and hit the ball at 95 and if he’s a bit stiff then 90! It was great to see him run in and throw the bowling rocket, and when he went out there with the stick, he knew how much he wanted to continue the game. His 26th appearance was a huge turning point in the game. He was always very clear about what he wanted to do.

“Mo went to Brendon last night and said I wanted to go meet these guys and beat them in three rounds. I am so happy about that. Not sure if it will be permanent, we prefer to go with the flow.” [and do things when the ideas come to us]
