Chris Hemsworth has stated that the group chat of the Avengers cast went “wild” following Jeremy Renner’s snowplow accident on January 1, 2023.

Several actors from the Marvel Cinematic Universe have previously talked about the existence of an ongoing group text sequence that includes the stars of the series.

Renner was seriously injured in an accident earlier this year when he was run over by a snow plow outside his home in Nevada. He was airlifted to the hospital, where he remained for two weeks while being treated for injuries including a collapsed chest, orthopedic injuries and more than 30 broken bones.

“We all use the ‘Avengers’ message thread, we all chat. And it was wild,” Hemsworth said in an interview with English GQ.

“None of us really know the severity [Renner’s accident] used to be. I think anything like that, it’s the immediate perception of ‘Well, any of us can go anytime…’

The 39-year-old actor added: “We are reaching the age where we start to lose the people we love.

In the Marvel series, Hemsworth plays the Asgardian god Thor, while Renner plays the bow-wielding man Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye.

Last month, Avengers co-star Scarlett Johansson recalled visiting Renner in the hospital, telling Diversity: “Honestly, I am very happy to meet him. I don’t know if I’ll ever see him again. Not only seeing him again, but seeing him grow and in such a wonderful space, mentally.”

Elsewhere in GQ profile, Hemsworth seems to enjoy Taika Waititi’s second Thor movie, 2022 Thor: Love & Thunderdescribed it as “too silly”.

Waititi directed the third and fourth installment in the Thor franchise, the first being in 2017 Thor: Ragnarokwas released to critical and popular acclaim.

Hemsworth said of it: “I was laughing and cringing at the same time. Love & Thunder. “I think we had too much fun. It became too silly.”
