Oris Johnson has said that Russian President Vladimir Putin would not have started a “mad, manly” war in Ukraine if he were a woman.
The prime minister also said that while the G7 leaders were “desperate” to want the war in Ukraine to end, there was “no deal”.
Speaking after the G7 summit in Bavaria, Mr Johnson told German broadcaster ZDF: “If Putin is a woman, obviously he’s not, but if he is, I really don’t think he is. will embark on a mad male war of aggression and violence the way he has.
“If you want a perfect example of toxic masculinity, that’s what he’s doing in Ukraine.”
He made comments arguing that “you need more women in positions of power”.
Mr Johnson also said the G7 meeting was “incredible” as the leaders were “getting closer and closer together”.
“The logic is yes, of course everyone wants the war to end, they desperately want the war to end, but there is no agreement.
“Putin did not make an offer of a deal, (Ukrainian President Volodymyr) Zelensky could not make an offer of a deal.”
The prime minister said the West must support Kyiv in its military strategy to help change the dynamics of the conflict and leave Mr Zelensky “in the best possible position to talk if and when the final negotiations come”. .
“We really want to give the Ukrainians strategic endurance,” he said.
