BILLION

The Prince of Wales and Duchess of Cornwall will be guests on a special episode of EastEnders in honor of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.

In the special, Charles and Camilla will surprise the residents of Albert Square at a street party to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the monarch on the throne.

The royal couple filmed the scenes in March when they visited the new Elstree set and met the cast and crew of the BBC series.

Viewers have seen Mick Carter, played by Danny Dyer, decide to throw a Jubilee party for the Square.

He will then tease that some very special guests will be in attendance but partygoers will be shocked when they are graced by the royal family on an episode that airs on June 2.

Mick and Linda Carter, played by Kellie Bright, will greet Charles and Camilla at the party and introduce them to the residents of Walford.

Speaking of his brush with royalties, Bright said: “I thought the great sports they were willing to do that.

“I just thought, ‘Wow, they’ve never done anything like this before. They really didn’t know what was going to happen, I mean it had to be stressful for them and completely out of their norm.

“So I just hope they like it as much as we did.”

Executive producer Chris Clenshaw added: “We are truly honored to have both the Prince of Wales and the Duchess of Cornwall appear in what is considered one of EastEnders’ most special episodes.

“Linda Carter naturally has her personality and is giddy with excitement when their Royal Princesses arrive in Walford, but it’s not just her, because for all of us at EastEnders it’s a Extremely special day that will go down in the history of EastEnders. ”

In 2001, the Queen visited soap queen Dame Barbara Windsor, who played Peggy Mitchell, on the set of EastEnders.

The royal guest stepped behind Queen Vic, strolling around Albert Square and through the EastEnders street market, meeting the stars of the show.

The Jubilee special featuring Charles and Camilla will air on June 2.
