Emilia Clarke ‘nearly ran over Samuel Jackson with a car’ on set of Secret Invasion

Emilia Clarke has stated that she “nearly ran over” Samuel L Jackson with a car while performing secret invasion.

The Game of Thrones the actor appears alongside Jackson in the new Marvel series, which premiered earlier this week on Disney+.

In an interview with Yahoo entertainmentClarke, 36, recalls the incident on set, when a simple driving scene nearly ended in disaster.

“They put me in a Lada, like a very old Russian car,” she said. “And I walked in and I was like, ‘Hey, what’s up with six people? [shift knobs] come here? Which one am I using? Why does it have 10 pedals?’

“Its [like] a tractor… I know how to drive. I know how to drive a stick. [But there wasn’t] enough time. They are saying, ‘We have to go. We are shooting. Here I love. Just go. We will go.'”

Despite convincing herself that she would be able to do that stunt and that it was only “one stop”, things quickly went awry.

“[I] in there,” she continued. “We get up to it. The camera is right there. Sam is right there. And I pressed the wrong one, I hit the gas, not the brake.”

Clarke added that Pulp Novels the star, 74, was “very polite, lovely and kind” about the near miss.

“After that, I cried a little bit and someone else drove [the car] for me,” she added.

The first episode of secret invasion premieres on Disney+ this week. However, a shocking twist at the end of the episode – which saw a longstanding Marvel character meet their end – was controversial with viewers.

Earlier this week, Jackson also spoke out about his friendship with Marvel co-star Brie Larson, while also criticizing Larson for online abuse.

The actor said they bonded after the election of Donald Trump.

She was broken and I was like, ‘Don’t let them break you. Now you have to be strong,’” Jackson recalls. “Then when she received Captain Marvel, she called me and said, ‘They want me in the Marvel Universe. Should I?’ And I was like, ‘Damn it! Let’s do it!'”
