Emma Watson says she ‘stepped away from her life’ as she celebrates 33rd birthday

Emma Watson has opened up to a rare personal post to mark her 33rd birthday.

The Harry Potter star, who turned 33 on Saturday (April 15), shared an Instagram post describing how she has “walked out of my life” over the past few years.

“This is 33,” she began. “Holy moly. Before the year 29, I had never even heard of the concept of Saturn returning. Let’s say I’m very familiar now.

She went on to write about how she learned to surf “badly”, ride horses, do “a lot of therapy” and “say goodbye to my Grandparents”.

She wrote: “I cut my thumbs off in both hands trying to cook for myself and then could only do things with one hand for months. “I feel really sad and really angry about a lot of things. I learned more about love and being a woman…

“It took me three years but I finally found a way to practice every day and can actually maintain it for more than a few days straight.”

She explained that the new photos she posted were actually taken on her birthday last year, “but I’m not ready to step out of my Covid cocoon”.

Many celebrities have sent love to Watson in the comments. Vanessa Hudgens wrote “What a goddess,” while Nicola Adams added: “Life is a journey.”
