Channel 4 has cut ties with Escape to the Castle starring Dick and Angel Strawbridge following reports that the pair had clashed with producers.
The pair appeared on the show, after they renovated a 19th-century mansion in Martigné-sur-Mayenne, France, for nine seasons starting in 2016 and ending in December 2022.
Duration first reported on Tuesday (May 17) that the broadcaster had ended its relationship with Strawbridges.
According to reports, an independent personnel investigation has been requested by Channel 4 after Two Rivers Media, the production company Escape To The Castle franchise, raising concerns about the pair.
A Channel 4 spokesperson said: “Following our review, we have made the decision not to work with Dick and Angel on any future new productions.
Two Rivers Media also confirmed that they “will no longer be working with Dick and Angel and cannot comment further at this time”.
Although the nature of the concerns raised was not disclosed, Durations sources said “the relationship between Two Rivers and Dick and Angel’s Chateau TV has deteriorated for a number of reasons and all have come to an end”.

Another heard Dick, 63, tell a producer “f*** you”. Sources from the show’s previous production company, Spark Media, accused the pair of bullying and said they had turned the making of the show into an “anxiety ordeal”.
Representatives for the couple at the time denied that they were aggressive or bullied the staff.
