Hayley Atwell discloses ‘mad’ method to quell unwanted male attention in clubs

Hayley Atwell has been open about the “crazy” method she used to get the attention of unwanted men in a nightclub.

The 41-year-old actor co-starred with Tom Cruise in Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One, revealed her tactics in the latest episode of independence‘S Love life series of interviews.

She told host Olivia Petter: “When I’m in clubs, I usually like going to gay clubs because I can dance freely and feel much safer.

“But I remember, when I was in clubs, men would come up to me and I felt that they were pretty tough or aggressive on the dance floor with me. It’s crazy that women have to feel unsafe just dancing. I was really afraid that if I offended him, it would make him angry.

She continued: “But if you do something a little crazy, they back down. And so I used to do really ugly, intense dances with them, completely out of rhythm, and I was almost madly in love with them. And it will last for about 10 seconds before they usually recede.”

Atwell stars as a criminal named Grace alongside Tom Cruise’s IMF agent Ethan Hunt in the new installment of the action series, as the group searches for a weapon that threatens humanity.

inside Love life In the interview, Atwell also discussed how she teamed up with Cruise and director Christopher McQuarrie to build her character, as well as stunt and combat training, as well as the barriers women in Hollywood face .

The film was awarded four stars by independenceby critic Clarisse Loughrey, who wrote that Atwell’s character is “a master thief who is, in some ways, the closest the series has ever been to the clumsy Hugh Grant”.

The film is expected to have the biggest opening weekend for a Mission: Impossible film to date, with a predicted box office of $90 million (£70.7 million).

The series is adapted from the classic television series, which began in 1996 and lasted until 1990.

Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part Onealso stars Rebecca Ferguson, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames and Vanessa Kirby, which premieres on July 10.
