Man ‘urinates on passenger during argument’ on American Airlines flight

An Indian man traveling on an American Airlines flight from New York to Delhi has been arrested after allegedly urinating on a passenger during an argument.

The bizarre incident is the latest among many reported over the past few months of passengers on flights urinating on companions after being intoxicated.

The American Airlines flight landed in India’s national capital around 9 p.m. on Monday. Local law enforcement officials were present at the airport when the flight arrived in Delhi, after which the accused was arrested.

Sources told NDTV news channel that India’s civil aviation watchdog has also taken appropriate action.

According to Indian media, the defendant was drunk on the flight and got into an argument with a passenger.

American Airlines did not confirm details of the incident, but issued a statement saying it faced “inflight disruption” of a flight to Delhi.

“American Airlines Flight 292 with a route from John F Kennedy International Airport (JFK) to Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) was intercepted by local law enforcement on arrival at DEL due to an incident on board.” aircraft,” the airline said in a statement.

The victim passenger has filed a formal complaint with the airline. However, a top police officer said “no solid evidence or claims” have been made about someone urinating on a companion.

Deputy Commissioner of Police (Airport) Devesh Kumar Mahla said: “There is no corroborating evidence or complaints from the passengers regarding someone peeing on them.

This is at least the second such incident in two months on an American Airlines flight.

An Indian student at a US university, identified as Arya Vohra, was banned by American Airlines in March after allegedly urinating on a fellow passenger.

In November last year, in an incident that shocked India, a drunk man allegedly urinated on an elderly woman in business class on an Air India flight.

The incident was reported in January and the defendant was arrested. The airline banned the defendant from flying for 30 days.

In another similar incident last December, a passenger allegedly urinated on an empty seat of a passenger on an Air India flight from Paris to Delhi.
