Johnny Depp Won’t Return to Disney’s But the pirate of the Caribbean a representative for the actor said.

On Monday (June 27), rumors spread that Depp was ready to return as Captain Jack Sparrow following the Australian press. PopTopic reported an alleged deal that would see the actor return to the franchise for around $300m (£245m).

“This is made up,” a rep for the actor told NBC News (via AND! News).

The possibility of Depp returning to the franchise was the subject of testimony given during the criminal trial between the actor and Amber Heard, his ex-wife. The trial ended earlier this month (June 2022).

Depp was asked: “If Disney comes to you with $300 million and a million alpacas, is there nothing on this earth that would make you go back and work with Disney on a Pirates of the Caribbean movie? “

“It’s true,” Depp replied.

Depp has played Captain Jack Sparrow in five films, including 2017 Pirates of the Caribbean: The Dead Don’t Tell Stories. Two additions pirate the movie is currently being made and many fans of the star want to see him back. One Online petitions call for him to return to his role has 800,000 signatures.

Earlier this month, a jury found that Amber Heard had defamed Depp in a Washington Post starting in 2018 and awarded him $10m (£8m) in compensatory damages and $5m (£4m) in compensatory damages. Heard was awarded $2 million (£1.6 million), but no damages were awarded.

Heard’s attorney said the actor plans to appeal.
