The Chromatica star took to Instagram on Thursday night to post a music trailer for the film titled Joker: Folie à Deux, which roughly translates to Joker: Madness for Two.

The animation of the two lovers is set in the backing song of Cheek to Cheek, a song that the A Star is Born actress famously covered with Tony Bennett.

The 36-year-old revealed in her caption that the film will be released on October 4, 2024.

While her fans still have two years to wait, they have flocked to social media to share their excitement about her new role.

Gaga fans took to Twitter to express their excitement for the musician and actress taking on the film.

“This will be EPIC!” declared one, followed by a flame emoji and a red heart.

“OH MYYYYY GAGA,” exclaimed a second. “I’m so excited, I want to see you already!”

The actress is also known for her serious role with methodical acting.

One Tweeter responded to someone whose actions were shocked in the meme, adding: “Gaga’s team when she said she would keep the character even if she didn’t shoot scenes for Joker 2.”

Gaga is slated to take on the role of Harley Quinn, the Joker’s love interest and companion, although her role has not been explicitly confirmed.

The character Quinn was first created in 1990’s Batman: The Animated Series and was further remade in DC and Warner Bros.’s Suicide Squad. in 2016 and 2021, and Birds of Prey in 2018, played by Margot Robbie.

HBO Max has also continued Quinn’s legacy with the Harley Quinn animated series featuring voice actress Kaley Cuoco.

With Joker’s first installment grossing over $1 billion at the box office, and good reviews with an 8.4 IMDb rating, the sequel will have a lot to live for.
