Leeds weather forecast today and this bank holiday weekend including when temperatures will top 20C

Leeds is set for a sunny Saturday over the weekend of the bank holiday but the rays are forecast to last only for a day, so make the most of it when it’s sunny.

The Met Office said the area of ​​high pressure that has brought favorable conditions across the UK over the past few days is forecast to extend past the bank holiday weekend and into next week. While that doesn’t mean heatwave conditions, according to the weather forecast, it will be warm through Monday.



Saturday is said to be the best day for Leeds with the sun shining almost through the walls in the evening. Temperatures are set to hit a high of around 22C on the afternoon of May 27.

The Met Office’s chief forecaster, Paul Gundersen, said: “The jet stream sitting in the north of the UK is stopping unsettled weather systems and allowing the dominant high pressures to bring good weather to the UK. much of the UK.

“The current high pressure position means we should see a westward air current over the UK, a cooler direction than if the air was brought up from the south and areas like Spain. or Africa. We are therefore unlikely to reach heatwave conditions, but temperatures will remain as warm as 20 degrees for many people, particularly in South West and south Wales.”

The Met Office’s forecast for Saturday said: “A Saturday starts off fairly bright with clouds and spells of sunshine. Feeling warm in the afternoon with lingering sunshine. Maximum temperature is 22° C.”
