Footage has been released of Lily Collins taking on the role of Cher in a reading desk of the classic 1995 film Know nothing.
Event organized by Seth Rogen as part of Netflix It’s a joke festival at the Orpheum Theater in LA, and saw Collins join Rogen as well as Storm Reid’s HappinessQuinta Brunson, Ray Romano’s Everyone loves RaymondAndrew Bachelor aka King Bach, Eduardo Franco, Joel Kim Booster and Kerri Kenney-Silver in recreating a full screenplay by director/writer Amy Heckerling.
Rogen read the stage instructions for the film, while Collins played Alicia Silverstone’s popular character.
Footage has now been shared from last week’s event, in which actors and comedians read through a scene where Cher compared the plight of Haitian refugees to a garden party her father once hosted.
The famous line of the scene – “It doesn’t mean RSVP on the Statue of Liberty” – received a standing ovation from the audience.
After the incident, Collins wrote on social media: “Thank you @sethrogen for including me and letting me live all my Cher Horowitz dreams! She also shared an image of herself dressing up as the main character of the movie.
The table reading series hosted by Rogen saw Aziz Ansari, Jack Black, Kathryn Hahn and Rogen recreate an iconic scene from the 1990s sitcom on their own. Seinfeld as well as a replay of the 1995 stoner comedy Fridaywith O’Shea Jackson Jr, son of the screenwriter and star of the original Ice Cube.
Nick Kroll and AtlantaZazie Beetz’s also joined Rogen to read the 1989 romantic comedy When did Harry meet Sally at the festival.
