Update live score IND vs ENG, Test day 1 today: R Ashwin picked Ben Stokes minutes before lunch to restrict England to 172/5 at Tea in the first Test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Day 3. The visitors lead by 18 runs runs as Ollie Pope continues to get through the session and is on good terms.

Earlier Ravindra Jadeja, KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal came to India to help them score 436 runs. Along with the trio, the other batsmen took India’s lead by 190 runs in response to England’s mediocre first innings score of 246.

Ravindra Jadeja failed to score his fourth Test hundred by 13 runs, the southpaw being trapped by Joe Root for 87. The next ball Jasprit Bumrah was cleared by Root. Young leg-spinner Rehan Ahmed dismissed Axar Patel to end India’s innings. Axar was fined 44.
