As we approach the weekend, the roads in North Staffordshire are likely to be busy. Most schools in the area are off for Easter today, so many parents will be preparing for their last day of work before the break.

Whether you’re traveling for work or school, it’s important to stay up to date with the latest happenings on regional routes to make your journey as smooth as possible.

Motorists using a busy city road are faced with four kilometer-long road structures today. Works are currently underway in Baddeley Green, Milton, Abbey Hulton and Stoke – meaning anyone arriving at the train station may want to give themselves a little extra time.

Power work is underway in Baddeley Green, on Leek New Road, and is affecting traffic between Sneyd Green and Stockton Brook. One lane is closed near Trentfields Road and a delay is expected until April 18.

There are four-way lighting at the Milton intersection as the Western Power project continues while the telecommunications work in Abbey Hulton is on Leek Road near the intersection with Abbey Road. LilaConnect previously told StokeonTrentLive that Hulton Priory work would be done over the weekend.

Stay on Leek Road and council is continuing an improvement project on adjacent Boughey Road. That means temporary lights remain outside Staffordshire University.

Motorists should also be aware of temporary lights on busy Weston Road in Meir, where Cadent is currently performing works – expected to continue until next month.

In Leek, some temporary luminaires have caused traffic congestion as part of ongoing work to install broadband, so there could be delays today.

Traveling from North Staffordshire and South Cheshire, delays are expected around the intersection of Wistaston Road and Dunwoody Road. It came as a six-week program already underway.

In an effort to help you get around North Staffordshire – whether it’s car, bus or train, we’ll keep an eye on what’s going on across the region’s roads. Of course, we will keep tabs on other important routes such as the A500, A50 and M6.
