Liverpool beat Leeds by six as Mo Salah inspires much-needed win
A stellar performance gave Liverpool a much-needed win along the way and sent Leeds to a second heavy defeat at home.
The Reds won 6-1 on Monday, as Mohamed Salah found his best form and scored twice to end a pair of well-executed counter-attacks. But mainly because Jurgen Klopp’s side had better ball control, the team took the lead thanks to Cody Gakpo’s controversial goal 10 minutes before the break.
Salah soon doubled the lead before Luis Sinisterra took advantage of Ibrahima Konate’s mistake to make it 2-1 early in the second half. Unlike most Premier League away games this season, however, Liverpool have generated a positive response, with Diogo Jota ending a 33-match goal drought with a brace of his own, Salah scored the second and Darwin Nunez scored the sixth.
