Matthew McConaughey spoke of the “unbelievable” feeling he and his wife experienced last month when their plane suddenly crashed at 4,000 ft mid-flight.

The Oscar-winning actor can be heard describing the phenomenon of “zero gravity” in an episode of Turn off the CameraKelly Ripa’s SiriusXM podcast, reporting Fox News.

“Your red wine, your glasses and your plate are all floating, floating, still floating in the air,” he said. And to look at it for a long time, not that long – one, two, three, four – and then it all fell apart.”

It was a ‘terrible scare,’ he added.

The Lufthansa flight bound for Frankfurt, Germany, took off from Austin, Texas. The plane was diverted to Washington DC following the incident.

The flight was the “hairiest” he’s ever been on, and he says the tray table kept him in his seat because he wasn’t wearing his seat belt when the plane landed.

She captioned the video: “During last night’s flight, the plane crashed almost 4,000 feet, seven people were taken to the hospital, everything was flying everywhere. Respecting the privacy of those around me, that’s all I’m saying, but the plane was a constant stream of Chaos and turbulence.”

He said they held hands wondering if another drop would come.

“Another person has arrived. It’s weird. You hear people’s reactions. Some people are silent as ghosts. Some people had big laughs. And it’s not like, ‘Oh, this is fun’. It was like, ‘I’m shocked’.

“And then you know what it’s like on the plane – you see the flight attendants don’t look very confident, and you’re like, ‘Uh oh’.”
