Met Eireann weather forecast update after ‘hottest day’ as dramatic change hits Ireland

Just as the Met Eireann has forecast the “hottest day” of the year so far, a dramatic change in weather would send the Irish coasts back in an unwanted turn.

From the middle of next week, cooler air will return and strengthen next week when northerly winds look set to bring severe cold.

According to the twitter account @TheSnowDreamer, it looks like: “there will be cooler and more changeable weather from the middle of the eastern week, but into next week the wind direction is now eyeing the cool northerly winds… this could be gives more pronounced chills. I’m increasingly of the opinion that we may need to wait until May for the right temperature.”

He added: “Temperatures seem to remain in the Iberian peninsula for a very warm April there. It will probably get worse before getting better.”

Meanwhile, the Met Eireann has forecast that the hottest day of the year so far is already possible and could happen on Friday.

Ladbrokes are currently offering 3/1 odds when temperatures hit 20C before the weekend, based on the weekly forecast released by the Met Éireann.
