Just as the Met Eireann has forecast the “hottest day” of the year so far, a dramatic change in weather would send the Irish coasts back in an unwanted turn.
From the middle of next week, cooler air will return and strengthen next week when northerly winds look set to bring severe cold.
According to the twitter account @TheSnowDreamer, it looks like: “there will be cooler and more changeable weather from the middle of the eastern week, but into next week the wind direction is now eyeing the cool northerly winds… this could be gives more pronounced chills. I’m increasingly of the opinion that we may need to wait until May for the right temperature.”

He added: “Temperatures seem to remain in the Iberian peninsula for a very warm April there. It will probably get worse before getting better.”
Meanwhile, the Met Eireann has forecast that the hottest day of the year so far is already possible and could happen on Friday.
Ladbrokes are currently offering 3/1 odds when temperatures hit 20C before the weekend, based on the weekly forecast released by the Met Éireann.
The national forecast reads: “Mostly dry and settled with high pressure predominating. Lightly sunny, especially in the west.”
Tonight
Mostly dry and clear with mild to moderate easterly or variable winds. Fog and fog will be much less widespread than on previous nights but individual patches are still possible. The lowest temperature is common from 3 to 6 degrees, there is a local decrease.
Tomorrow
Wednesday tomorrow will bring a mix of cloudy and sunny. It will be dry again, with only the possibility of an unusually light shower. The highest temperature is from 11 to 13 degrees, mainly with mild easterly winds.
