Neil Patrick Harris has issued an apology for a reenactment photo of a Halloween party where he and her husband served a plate of meat that looked like the decomposing corpse of Amy Winehouse.
The disc, which sheds light on the late singer’s untimely death, has a sign that reads: “The body of Amy Winehouse.”
In a statement to Weekly entertainmentthe How I meet your Mother The star said: “A recent photo was taken from a Halloween themed party my husband and I held 11 years ago. It was a pity then, and it is still a pity to this day.”
He added that “Amy Winehouse is a generational talent” and that he “apologizes for any hurt this image has caused”.
Winehouse died of alcohol poisoning after binge drinking after a period of abstinence in 2011 in London. She is 27 years old.
Based on Buzzfeed, the photo from Harris’s party was first shared on Twitter by Justin Mikita, husband of actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson. Both attended the party.
Mitka quickly deleted the post, but not before it was screenshotted by multiple users.
One person wrote: “Society is long overdue to discuss how Amy Winehouse was treated in the early 2000s and 2010s by the captive celebrity and spectator media machine. “Neil Patrick Harris’s corpse cake is just the tip of the iceberg.”
Another user added: “Y’all, the Neil Patrick Harris/Amy Winehouse thing is even worse than it looks because it’s not a cake, it’s a plate of meat made to look like a corpse hers. If you don’t know what I’m talking about, Google it. You will be disgusted and no longer a fan of NPH”.
“This happened 11 years ago but was slightly brushed under the carpet, but basically Neil Patrick Harris threw a party right after Amy Winehouse died and served a plate of meat that looked like his dead body. she. And it was labeled as ‘Amy Winehouse’s Corpse.’ It’s really bad,” wrote another.
