ick Cave’s son, Jethro Lazenby, has died aged 30, a spokesman for the musician has confirmed.

A statement from his agent said: “It is with great sadness that I can confirm that my son, Jethro, has passed away.

“We are grateful for the family’s privacy at this time.”

Lazenby was released from prison just two days before his death and is serving a sentence for assaulting his mother, according to local media reports.

His agent Sean Ghattas said the Melbourne model had recently been diagnosed with schizophrenia, which affects his judgment.

It comes just seven years after Cave Arthur’s son, 15, died in a cliff fall in Ovingdean, near Brighton.

The teenager suffered an “irreparable head injury” when he plunged 60 feet at the Ovingdean Gap bypass near Brighton, East Sussex, on July 14, 2015.

In a statement, his parents, singer Nick and model wife Susie, described him as a “beautiful, happy and loving boy”.

His death inspired subsequent albums by Cave, Skeleton Tree and Ghosteen, as well as the 2016 documentary One More Time With Feeling.

Mr and Mrs. Cave moved to Los Angeles shortly after their son’s death, but later returned to Brighton.

In an interview last year, he said: “Brighton has become so sad.

“However, we turned back when we realized that, wherever we live, we bring only sadness with us.

“These days, however, we spend most of our time in London, in a small, secretive pink house where we are mostly happy.”

Lazenby became a model after being sought after in Melbourne, but has also acted in films including 2007’s Corroboree and 2011’s My Little Princess.

In 2018, he was jailed for violently assaulting his girlfriend.
