ITV announced temporary replacements for Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield on today’s episode of This morning.
Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will join the show on Monday (May 22), following the dramatic departure of Schofield last week.
The 61-year-old presenter’s departure comes amid rumors of a rift between him and co-star Holly Willoughby, and after his brother, Timothy Schofield, was sentenced to 12 years in prison on Friday. , after being found guilty of child molestation.
Shortly after announcing his departure, Willoughby thanked her former colleague for “all his knowledge, experience and humour”. She added: “The sofa wouldn’t be the same without him.”
Schofield, 61, will not be returning to co-host the morning talk show, with last Thursday’s show being his last.
Willoughby will continue to participate in the program and will “co-present with members of This morning family,” said ITV. However, Metro.co.uk reported that the broadcaster said she would take a break for half a term, returning on Monday, June 5.
Meanwhile, ITV star Amanda Holden appeared to peruse Schofield’s exit on Instagram shortly after he announced his departure.

ITV has announced that Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary will join the show This morning on Monday (May 22) following the departure of Phillip Schofield.
Schofield, who hosted the morning talk show alongside Holly Willoughby, left the series this week amid multiple reports of “discord” between the presenting duo.
Willoughby will continue to host the show, but will take a midterm break this week.
Hammond and O’Leary are currently hosting This morning on Fridays, with Willoughby (and for now, Schofield) at the helm Monday through Thursday.
Willoughby will be back from the holiday season on June 5.
