Prince Harry is said to be in the process of returning to Africa to shoot a new documentary for Netflix.
However, this new supposed solo project will not include Meghan Markle and is the next stage in their £78m deal with the world-renowned streaming giant.
The Duke’s new show will likely be a relief for the royal couple, who suffered a huge blow earlier this month when they were kicked out of a $20 million Spotify deal, which means is Meghan’s Archetypes podcast that was cut after just one season.
After their crushing defeat, speculation began to increase about the future of their Netflix deal, which was also said to be “hanging the balance” when it was reported that the platform could follow Spotify’s example. and broke up with this couple.
However, things seem to be finally getting back on track for the Sussexes as Harry follows in the footsteps of his late mother, Princess Diana as he heads back to Africa for a new personal project, The Mirror report.
Reports come through Page Sixwith a Netflix insider telling them: “Obviously, Harry has a lot of African roots and he feels at home.”
The publication also reports that the exact nature of the documentary has yet to be revealed and that Harry is unable to proceed with his plan because of the ongoing Hollywood screenwriters’ strike.
In his previous Netflix documentary, the Duke appeared with his wife in their six-part series ‘Harry & Meghan’.
The documentary series that has brought Netflix to great success was released last December and explores the couple’s humble beginnings, their royal life and their current family life after moving to the US to settled outside the company with two children. Archie and Lilibet.
News of Harry’s new project comes just weeks after their Spotify launch following their first one-off episode together before Meghan launched her own award-winning Archetypes series.
The 12-episode series sees the Duchess invite various celebrity guests to the show to talk about the history of stereotypes used against women.
Some of her guests include tennis legend Serena Williams, singer Mariah Carey and Paris Hilton.
According to one royal expert, when Harry took on her own TV job, Meghan was apparently also set for “her own one-woman show” as she was said to have received “these offers poured in” from multiple brands, according to a royal expert.
The Duchess of Sussex is said to have hired a new agent who will help her build more professional relationships that Daniela Elser claims will lead her to a “different” career path from Harry’s.
Daniela added: “With their podcast deal with Spotify already going the way of Dodo and Princess Margaret, it increasingly looks like the duchess traded their Sussex dual act for their one-woman show only me.
“Meghan – and only Meghan – has a new super agent, and supposedly ‘offers have poured in’ for Meghan – and only Meghan.”
