Prince Harry ‘suffering’ but ‘private matters should stay private in families’, says Italian Prince

Prince Emanuele Filiberto of Savoy weighed in on Prince Harry’s fractured relationship with his family and said private matters should ‘be kept private’.

Emanuele was the son and heir of Vittorio Emanuele of Savoy and the only grandson of Umberto II, the last king of Italy. In 2023, the Prince of Venice renounced his inheritance in favor of his daughter, Princess Vittoria of Savoy.

Speaking about the departures of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle as well as the estranged relationship with the Royal Family, Emanuele shared her thoughts on the fractured relationship between the Sussexes and The Firm. Emanuele expressed sadness to see Harry arriving for King Charles’ coronation alone because he said he was still the King’s son.

“I don’t like criticism,” Emanuele told Fox News Digital. “And you know, they made a choice. Harry was a very smart young man. He suffered a lot. [from] media attention at a young age.

“Then, when his mother passed away, maybe at some point he wanted to live a different life, and he went with his wife… to America.”

“I feel a bit sad to see him come to the coronation of King Charles alone… because he is still the son of the king of England,” the 50-year-old said. “[But] I think private things should be kept private in the family.”

The prince continued: “I’m sure he is suffering a lot about what is happening. You grew up to be like this. But you know, it’s [their] choice and God bless them. And I hope they have a great life.”
