A man recorded his suitcase’s journey through the airport after attaching a camera to the bag before checking it at check-in.
Thomas Miller, who goes by the username @thomasmiller719 on TikTok, uploaded a video of the unique perspective captured by his suitcase last month. In the clip, he begins by explaining that it’s time to “find out what the airport does to my bags”.
After attaching a small camera to the bottom of his suitcase, Miller then captured himself pushing the bag to an airport drop-off location.
Video captured by a miniature camera shows the suitcase being placed on a long conveyor belt, which takes it a number of times as it enters a large room at the airport.
The bag then appears to exit a machine, possibly a security check, before it is transferred onto another conveyor belt. It captured the moment the suitcase passed an airport employee.
The video of the bag’s journey ends with the suitcase being placed on top of a large pile of other suitcases.
Although the video does not show the process, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) note that baggage will undergo screening similar to the screening process travelers undergo before checked baggage is carried by the airline onto your respective flight.
The process of loading baggage onto the plane is often done manually, with an earlier video showing the complicated process of loading baggage into the cabin.
Miller’s video has since been viewed more than 16 million times on TikTok, where viewers admit to being amused by the bag’s journey.
“Why is this so satisfying?” one person asked, while another said: “It was a fun adventure.”
“It’s good to see nothing happened. Thanks!” another wrote.
Others revealed that they weren’t impressed with the behind-the-scenes footage, with some suggesting they expected more “dramatic”.
One wrote: “I know what to expect, but I want more ‘dramatic’,” while another said: “I don’t know what I’m expecting but I know I’m looking forward to more. more than that”.
The video also makes many comparisons with the scene in Toy Story 2 when Woody and his friends try to rescue Jessie inside an airport.
“Yes I know I have seen Toy Story 2a joker.
“Why should I expect to see Woody?” someone else asked.
Although recording in airports is generally allowed, The guy who scored note that “Case and Border Patrol agents should not be videotaped” because “most of these interactions are not considered public” and that, outside of the United States, “you should not be photographed, filmed film or record any government or construction government employee without prior authorization from that government”.
The travel outlet also notes that some airlines only allow “personal events” to be recorded, with American Airlines’ policy stating: “Only still cameras and video and film cameras are allowed to be used. or digitally to record individual events. Photography or video recording of airline personnel, equipment or procedures is strictly prohibited.”
