Two men have been arrested on suspicion of shooting and assault in Cornwall.
The attack happened in the area of Drump Road, Redruth, Cornwall, at around 18:30 BST on Thursday. Police found two injured men at a home, and one remains in critical condition.
A man in his 40s, from Redruth, and a man in his 30s, from Camborne, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, Devon and Cornwall Police said.
Both men remain in custody.
Police said a man believed to have been shot remains in intensive care and is in critical condition.
A second man, with a gunshot wound to the head, has been released from the hospital and his injuries “are not as serious as initially feared”.
Police said the arrested men were awaiting questioning.
Supt Ian Thompson said: “There has been a massive police response to yesterday’s incident and residents of Redruth can expect to see more police presence in the area in the coming days.
“While we believe this is an isolated issue where everyone involved knows each other, it is important that the public work with us and share information.
“We’d also like to hear from anyone who may have dash cams, doorbells or CCTV footage of the area yesterday afternoon.”
Emergency services including armed units and police helicopters were on the scene Thursday.
Redruth Cornwall Council member Connor Donnithorne said: “It’s a very cohesive community, especially in that area.”
