It’s the shortest day(s) of the year and both NZ and Australia have major high pressure areas – with the NZ high pressure region contributing a bit more cooling south into the tropics.

On Friday (Matariki) we’ll see northern parts of NZ bring temperatures up from now – but showers west of NZ will linger into the weekend while westerly winds blow through southern regions of Australia.
